We haven't had our first outdoor movie on it yet but I did try it out on the side of my pole barn...the picture was great and it was huge !! This was a great buy....my kids are very excited and are ready to start our summer movie nights!

5SO glad I chose this one!

This projector is amazing!!

Honestly, I was overwhelmed with all of the choices out there and finally landed on Amazon's "most purchased" - which is the older model of this projector. I decided on this one because the price difference wasn't that drastic and I liked the idea of the energy/bulb conservation feature.

The image is crisp, and indoors, the sound is LOUD. For outdoor use (for which we purchased it) we definitely needed to hook up some speakers, but that's to be expected. I am not an expert in projectors - this is our first one - but I would highly recommend this to anyone who just wants something relatively inexpensive for setting up a backyard theater or for watching movies on a "big screen". (Heck, we've used it fairly close to the wall and watched it at "normal TV" size!)

We've only watched a dozen or so shows/movies so far, but I love how easily it connects to our Apple TV (and thus: iPhones/iPads), DVD player, and laptop. I absolutely love how easy it was to setup and how light and convenient it is to move when we need to. Definitely a win.

5Great projector for this pricepoint.

As this is a new item only being released in january 2015, i was quite skeptical as there were zero reviews, but the previous model had a ton of great reviews.
Im using it in our pool area with a screen up on our pool cage with a throw of about 16 feet ish across my pool. At the smallest zoom it gives me a screen size about 5x9 feet. I wasnt to happy about this at first because my first screen wasnt big enough. So i had to get a bigger screen.
As for the brightness, wow! The brightest setting is almost too bright in the color dept! The lowest (movie mode) isnt a ton darker, which is good. I like it on dynamic or viewmatch. Outside at daylight, 3200 lumens isnt bright enough, but when i hooked it up inside during the day it was great, just as bright as any tv! 3200 lumens = awesomeness!
As for the resolution, it looks near HD from a distance because the colors are so great, but if you get up close, you can see all the pixels.
My advice? An excellent projector for $350. If you want strictly HD, ive since seen another go on a 18hr sale somewhere else for 299, but youll spend well over 400. So pick your budget.
My only con is the audio in/out are 3.5mm jacks, not RCA, so there was another purchase for $6 for an adapter.
